Seeing Yeshua as a Brother, not an Enemy

Prayer Points
- That God will pull down the stubborn stronghold that causes Israelis to believe that Yeshua is the cause of the Crusades, inquisitions, pogroms, and Holocaust
- That true believers – both Gentile and Jewish – will faithfully represent Yeshua by showing genuine love to Jewish non-believers, and that doors will be opened for sharing the Gospel
- That God will fill believers with wisdom, sensitivity, and patience to share the Good News with Jewish people and answer objections with grace, clearly presenting their own Messiah to them
- That God will stir Israelis’ hearts to be willing to seek and read the truth about Jesus in the New Testament (currently considered a forbidden book for many of them), and to understand that He is not the source of hatred but of love
- That Jewish people will see that Yeshua is not their enemy, but rather the One who loves them deeply and gave Himself for them, and that they’ll surrender their lives to Him
Key Scriptures
Isaiah 53 is a double prophecy. It foretells the Messiah’s sacrificial death. But it’s also written from the perspective of Jewish people looking back at the One whom they rejected and realizing that He was actually the Messiah who suffered and died for their sins. And more and more Israelis are beginning to receive that revelation now:
Isaiah 53:3-6 He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.”
“I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.”
Deuteronomy 18:18-19
